EQUIPMENT
We often get asked what Solar panels and inverters are the best and why do we recommend particular brands. There are many panel manufacturers with most being based in Asia and especially China.
The major European brands have all now disappeared having been forced out by the competition from China. After the demise of Solar World of Germany, we moved to Qcells who were originally German, but were bought by Hanwa of South Korea. After significant investment in new state of the art factories and R&D based in Germany, they continue to deliver some of the most advanced modules while still offering good value. Other brands we sometimes use are REC, LG and Sunpower.
Our confidence in our choices has been proven by never having to replace a faulty panel since we started in 2009. For up-to-date information please follow the links to the manufacturer’s web sites. Hanwa Qcells are updating their technology yearly and we are currently fitting ML G9 385w with Black frame and ML G9 380w all black panels.
INVERTERS
Solar PV inverters convert the panel generated DC current into Grid acceptable AC power. The correct choice is important in maximising generation. We use the worlds most advanced inverters from SMA, Fronius, Solar Edge and Solis.
As with all complex electronic devices there are always a small number of failures, and every inverter will fail by the time it is around 12 years old.
You will find that we always buy our inverters with a 10 year extended warrantee so you have peace of mind for the first 10 years.
For roof mounting equipment we use Schletter of Germany for on-roof, GSE of France for in-roof and Wagner of Germany or Van der Valk for flat roof ballast mounted systems.
